Abstract
Clinical laboratories are constantly making great efforts to produce more efficient and reliable results. Quality control plays a vital role in the laboratory’s ability to produce accurate test results, and it has been a component of laboratory medicine for more than 50 years. While the first quality control methods were designed to detect errors visually, in the 1930s, Shewhart and his colleagues pioneered statistical analysis in the control process.
