Avoidable mortality, clinical outcomes and determinants of premature death among adults with severe or profound intellectual disability: A population-based analysis of mortality data in England

Abstract

We extracted sociodemographic characteristics (sex, ethnicity, home postcode, place of death, region of England, date of birth, and date of death) for each person with intellectual disability whose death underwent a LeDeR review. For the regression analysis, the outcome variable (age at death) was calculated from each individual's date of birth and date of death, with time zero defined as the participant's birth.
