Abstract

1## INTRODUCTION The Earth is experiencing unprecedented global change, and species face uncertain fates. Global changes, including climate change, can cause species to shift their geographical ranges, resulting in the (dis)assembly of communities and novel or no-analogue communities (Williams & Jackson, [geb12887-bib-0070]) and ecosystems (Hobbs, Higgs, & Harris, [geb12887-bib-0023]). Shifts in species ranges present logistical and ethical challenges for conservation prioritization (McLachlan, Hellmann, & Schwartz, [geb12887-bib-0040]).
