Abstract

1. The study highlights that disability and developmental delay are common conditions among children attending preschool in low-income settings. Preschools must be responsive to include children with a variety of impairments to ensure they can participate. 2. The study indicates feasibility in the application of the Washington Group/UNICEF Child Functioning Module and the Malawi Development Assessment Tool to measure prevalence of disability and developmental delays in preschool children in rural sub-Saharan Africa. 3.
